Our Mission & Vision
Welcome.
The Catholic Quill is a scholarly initiative that focuses on providing edifying and original content for Catholics and inquiring minds. The Quill publishes content centered on theology, science, philosophy, apologetics, and human anthropology. We publish theological and scholarly work, not breaking news or opinion pieces. We seek to deviate from publishing on topics like partisan-style politics and conspiracy theories. We believe that in focusing on the church’s teachings, we are producing content that enlightens believers. In accordance with 1 Peter 3:15, we seek to serve the church by contributing educational and orthodox material to our readers that will equip them for every answer pertaining to the Catholic faith. For those that are not Catholic, we seek to provide orthodox material so non-Catholics may understand what we believe and why we believe it.
In addition to producing articles, our contributors also offer a wealth of resources. These include books, book reviews, courses, podcasts, study material, interviews, and occasional debates. We believe that producing quality content in line with Catholic teaching is a service to God and to the Church, and we seek to represent the Catholic faith in the light of truth and love.
We are consecrated to Mary, and celebrate our consecration to Jesus through Mary on the feast of Our Lady of Fatima for the conversion of sinners and the revival within the church.
Our Patron Saints
St. Jerome
St. Jerome is the patron saint of libraries, translators, and encyclopedists. Not only was he a theological superior but was also schooled in the art of rhetoric and studied philosophy starting at the age of 10. Vindicated as a doctor of the church, he is known to historically defend the Catholic faith against heresy with great persistence. Jerome’s feast day is September 30th.
St. Francis De Sales
St. Francis De Sales is the patron Saint of writers, Catholic press, journalists, adult educators, and the deaf. Often dubbed “the gentleman saint”, Francis De Sales was known for his gentle nature and writings defending the faith. He is also vindicated as a Doctor of the church. His feast day is celebrated on January 24th.
